America - Heading in the Right Direction

As Christians, we are called to defend life from conception, for every child is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). In a world where the sanctity of life is under relentless assault, it is crucial to recognize and support leaders who champion the unborn. Three political figures—Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—have taken or promised steps to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. While their approaches differ, each has made significant contributions to the pro-life movement, standing against the culture of death that seeks to normalize abortion.

Donald Trump: The Champion Who Overturned Roe v. Wade

President Donald Trump’s legacy on life issues is unparalleled. His greatest achievement was the appointment of three Supreme Court justices—Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett—who helped overturn Roe v. Wade in the historic Dobbs v. Jackson ruling of 2022. This decision returned the power to restrict or ban abortion to the states, saving countless lives. Trump also reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which blocked U.S. taxpayer funding for foreign organizations that perform or promote abortion. Under his administration, Planned Parenthood lost millions in federal funding, thanks to pro-life reforms in Title X regulations.

Moving forward, Trump has pledged to protect life at the state level, allowing strong pro-life laws to flourish across America. While he insists that abortion is one of the issues which is a matter of states rights, he has also vowed to oppose extreme federal abortion policies pushed by the radical left. He remains the only president to speak at the March for Life, boldly proclaiming that “every child is a precious gift from God.” His leadership has emboldened states to pass heartbeat laws and near-total bans, advancing a culture of life.

J.D. Vance: Fighting for the Preborn

Ohio Senator turned Vice President J.D. Vance has quickly emerged as one of the strongest voices for life in Washington. He co-sponsored the Life at Conception Act, which seeks to recognise the personhood of the unborn child and protect them under the 14th Amendment. Vance has also supported bans on abortion at the federal level after 15 weeks, an incremental but crucial step toward ending abortion entirely.

A devout Christian and family man, Vance has warned against the corrupting influence of abortion culture, linking it to declining moral values and family breakdown. He has courageously opposed exceptions for rape and incest, affirming that every life is valuable regardless of the circumstances of conception. Vance has also expressed support for incentives to promote adoption and support mothers, countering the left’s false claim that pro-lifers do not care for women in crisis pregnancies.

If given the opportunity, Vance will push for stronger federal protections for the unborn, ensuring that abortion is not merely restricted in some states but ultimately eradicated across the nation.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: A Surprising Defender of Life

While traditionally associated with liberal politics, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has surprised many with his increasingly pro-life stance. He has called abortion a “tragedy” and has expressed openness to limiting it, breaking with the radical pro-abortion views that dominate the Democratic Party. Though not yet fully committed to a national abortion ban, RFK Jr. has stated that life begins at conception, a crucial moral admission in today’s political landscape.

Kennedy has also vowed to oppose taxpayer funding for abortion and resist the leftist push for unlimited abortion-on-demand. His defense of religious liberty suggests that he would protect the conscience rights of doctors, nurses, and organizations who refuse to participate in abortion. While he has room to grow in his pro-life convictions, his willingness to question the abortion orthodoxy of his party offers hope that he may support commonsense protections for the unborn.

A Call to Action

As pro-life Christians, we must remain vigilant in the battle for life. Trump, Vance, and Kennedy have taken steps—some bold, some gradual—to push back against the culture of death. We must pray for them, support their efforts, and continually demand even stronger protections for the unborn. The fight is far from over, but with faithful leadership and unwavering commitment, we can build a nation that upholds the sanctity of life and fulfills God’s command to defend the defenseless (Proverbs 31:8-9).
